WHAT WE DO

The Center for Processed-Free Living is a non-profit organization dedicated to eliminating childhood and adult obesity through nutrition education to both young and old, teaching the health effects of processed foods and the healing properties of whole foods.  It provides award winning nutrition education programs to children and adults with nutrition-focused cooking classes and nutritional intensives.

For the children, the Center recruits and organizes the dissemination of the Food is Elementary Curriculum created by the Food Studies Institute (www.foodStudies.org). For adults, the Center provides nutrition-focused cooking classes with Dee McCaffrey, CDC and staff, showing everyone how to live processed-free without sacrificing taste or satisfaction.

Trained Food Educators have taught portions of the Food is Elementary curriculum in Scottsdale, Arizona for the Scottsdale Boys and Girls Club and in Tempe and Gilbert, Arizona for the East Valley Boys and Girls Club. The Adult program is also taught regularly.  To sign up for the next one in your area, go to Educate Yourself.

The Center also offers the popular audio program Diet Science which in 2007 was nominated for Best Podcast in the category of health.  To listen to these fun and informative seven minute programs, go to: Audio Programs.  Finally, the Center offers a message board where people from around the world have each other's support as they transition away from processed foods. To join, go to Message Board.
